Kevin will provide a complete discussion of Schedule E covering everything from partial rentals to full rentals; conversion to/from residence; disposal of rentals; QBID considerations and disposals of rental properties. This discussion will cover all aspects of handling rental income from a practical, practice-oriented perspective.
Kevin’s Bio: Kevin has been a Tax Problem Solver since 1987. He is an Enrolled Agent (EA) and a United States Tax Court Practitioner (USTCP), admitted to represent taxpayers at all administrative levels of the IRS as well as the United States Tax Court. He holds an MBA in International Business from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Kevin teaches other tax professionals (CPAs, EAs, attorneys, and professional tax preparers) all over the US the complicated things that they need to understand in order to help their clients. In his spare time, Kevin likes hiking with his two dogs and scuba diving.

6 Hours CE on Tax Update; a Post Mortem of the TCJA (and a look forward); Legislative Activity that can affect the practice and practitioner of taxes.
Marilyn will educate us on the anticipated tax updates for the coming year. Additionally, she will provide us with a review of the hits and misses relative to the TCJA as well as take us through the various changes we can anticipate for the future based on the legislative changes Congress is pursuing.
Marilyn’s Bio: Dr. Marilyn Young began teaching at Belmont University in 2001. She has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama, and a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Mississippi. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), her industry experience includes work as a Tax Accountant for Deloitte & Touche, and Frasier, Dean, and Howard and as a Tax Specialist in Corporate Finance at Empire Berol Corporation. Dr. Young holds membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, and American Taxation Association.
